Last Tech For 2019

On Wednesday we made nachos. I really liked making the nachos, probabably cause it was sweet and spicy. My partner was Kotipi and I let her do all the work, but I don't think she minds doing it. have you ever had nachos?

Kiwi's Claim Number 1 Spot In World League

The Kiwis have now claimed the number 1 spot in the world league. They have smacked Australia off the top of the rankings following their 2-0 win against Great Britain. England beat Kiwis 3-1 in 2018, but the Kiwis turned that around this year.

Sonny Bill Willams Going To Canada

Sonny Bill Willams has announced that he will being playing for a team in Canada, the Toronto Wolfpacks. He signed a 2 year contract to earn around 2 million a year and now he will start playing in the European league. I think this will be a good experience for him because he is now playing in a different team and league.

Kiwi Can Jam

On Friday our school had our first Kiwi Can Jam. it was fun being there but there wasn't enough food. I think we did good even though we didn't get anything. I had a lot of fun and I think everyone else did. Have you ever been to Kiwi Can Jam?

All Blacks Lose To England!

The All Blacks lost to England in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup. The All Blacks lost with the score at 19-7. Now England will move on to the final playing against South Africa for 1st and 2nd, and the All Blacks will play Wales for the 3rd and 4th spot.

A Fire In The Sky City!

A fire has broke out in Auckland's SkyCity convention centre. The fire started at around 1:00pm on the seventh floor before spreading to the sixth. One person was sent to the hospital in serious condition. The SkyCity has evacuated the entire Auckland area forcing people to leave the sky tower, casino, all SkyCity hotels and resturants.

Silver Ferns Beat Australia

The Silver Ferns just beat Australia by one point with the score at 54-53 . With the scores all tied up Ameliaranne Ekenasio made the winning shot in the last 20 seconds. The Silver Ferns were losing, but then made a miracules comeback. Both teams played a great game. It was a close match and both teams tried there hardest, but in the end the Silver Ferns found a way to win.

My Holiday

In the holiday I went to the movies in the city with my mum, three sisters and my three cousins. We watched Angry Birds 2 because my little sisters were with us. I thought the movie was boring because it was just boring. After that we went to KFC and ate it at Mission Bay and played on the park.

First Time Cooking In Ages!

Today it was my first time cooking at tech since last year. It was irritating and fun at the same time because I had to work by myself. I made tuna salad and I think it's the first salad that I've ever finished.

Netball

On  Wednesday Talia, Leanah, Leaaepeni, Madisyn, Augeer, Konzay, Mary-Ruth, Kate, Kotipi and I went to the netball interschools tournament. Our first game was against St Pius and it was a draw.  Then our last game was against Panmure Bridge and we lost by two points.

I didn't care much if we won or lost as long as I had fun with the rest of the team. It would've been the best tournament we've went to if we won.

Fundraising To Travel Further Distances

Around $92 million in funding to take people further distances by train so you don't have to waste your gas only your money. The train will go from Hamilton to Papakura and then to Britomart in Aucklands city.

Tall Blacks Beaten Easily By Canada

The Tall Blacks lost to Canada by 40 points, the score was 122-88 such a humiliating defeat. They didn't play to good in the first half but they made a comeback in the second, but that didn't give them the victory.

I like playing basketball and I might do it for my job, because right now my decisions are rugby or basketball. What would you rather play?

Wood Works

Yesterday at tech I think I almost finished my project because I added the mirror on it but I'm still not sure. Mr Grundy usesd a glasscutter to cut out the shape of the mirror to the perfect size.

After that he put two types of glue on the back of the mirror. We had to wait for it to dry so he put it on the front of our project and put two rubber bands on each end of the mirror to hold it in place.

🛥Kayaking🛥

Today my class and I went on a trip to Wero Whitewater Park and it was fun and hilarious at the same time.

The fun bit was the competition I had with my classmates, and the funny bit was watching people falling off their kayak. I was hoping to stay longer or go on at least one of the courses, but sadly we didn't.

The first one to fall was Konzay, then Sosiua and then me. I fell twice! The first time was because I was out of control and the second was because Mario pushed one side of my kayak and there was too much wieght on that side so I did the same to his one.

Wellington Crowned NZ's Fittest City

A news report ranked Wellington as NZ's fittest city. The rankings were made by AIA Vitality, and based on public health study it released last year.

I think that it's only the fittest city because of all the steep hills they have to walk, jog, run or sprint up. I think when I grow up I'm going to move to Wellington so I can get fit, and because AIA said that 10 percent of  deaths world wide are caused by physical inactivity.

Countdown Stops Selling Energy Drinks

Countdown has just made a huge mistake by making enegy drinks age restricted. Well at least I think it's a mistake because if they make these amazing poducts age restricted, they won't start making profit like they used to, and what if some people haven't heard of this news they'll just be wasting their gas and they'd probably never go there again.

South Africa Snatch A draw

Yesterday South African half-back Herschel Jantjies scored in just the minute against the All Blacks, and Andrea Pollard with the conversion to tie it all up.

I can't believe that Andrea Pollard got the coversion with all of the presser in his hands I bet if I was in the All Blacks I would've made them win.

Is Lake Tekapo In For A Name Change?

What??? Mckenzie District's Deputy Mayor, James Leslie said that Lake Tekapo is spelt incorrectly and was meant to be Lake Takapo.

I think this is a big mstake because everybody is already used to Tekapo. What about the tourists, won't they get mixed up too?

Sad But Fun!

Last Friday my family and I went to Paradise Ice-Skating in Botany. It was hard at first but then I started to get used to it.

My brothers, cousins and I were having a race around the ice rink but then my brother ran into me and we both slipped, nothing hapened to him but for me I sprained both my rists and he didn't even care. 

After that, I couldn't go to my rugby game the next day so, it was boring me for the rest of the holidays.

😎I Helped Save The World😁

Yesterday my school and I had the privilege of going to the Tamaki Estuary to pick up the rubbish left behind from heartless people.

I learnt that glass was made out of sand that was melted. My favourite part was when we were playing on the new and improved playground.

Wero Whitewater Park

Wow Mario

Last week on Friday my class and I went on a trip to the Wero Whitewter Park. It was funny because everyone kept falling out of the raft, the only person that didn't fall out of my raft was Kain. It would've been me and Kain until Mario pushed me in the water along with him.

The only two putdowns were that we didn't go on the splashdown and we didn't get to stay there forever. I learnt a lot about rafting and crossing dangerous rivers.

Wood Tech

Today at Tech I started to work on the wood that Sir gave me. I had to rule the lines where the joints were going to go and then saw through the line and finish it off with chizzling. The wood had to be exactly the same size as the measurements to put the joint in.

My favourite part was chizzling the wood because it was fun but also challenging at the same time. I had to make sure that when I put it in the joint it has to fit perfectly so it wouldn't fall out.

On Friday my class and I are going kayaking at the Wera White Waterpark. By the looks of this image I reckon it's going to be fun. This will be my first time kayaking, but hopefully not my last.

Technology Wood

Today at Tech I have chosen to make a mirror for my mum because, she always needs a mirror for her when she's doing her makeup.

I think this is the best choice because she always loses her small mirrors, but this one will be so atractive she won't even want to lose it.

I will consider smoothing this project and making it more attractive. I will make this more attractive by adding more detail.

🏉Rippa Rugby🏉

Yesterday we had our last rippa rugby lesson with coach Corey. It was really fun and competitive, because we played four different games. We played cat and mouse, over the river, rippa rugby and Bullrush, but my favourite games were Over the River and Bullrush (only because I won). Have you played any of the games I've mentioned?

🌋White Island Erupting🌋

New Zealand's White Island volcano showed signs of erupting last Thursday. Ever since last Thursday, the people living in that area experienced 196 earthquakes.

I think most people around the area would be panicing or leaving because of this news... I think I would be doing the same thing.

Yesterday at Tech I almost finished painting my clock, I just need to paint it again and then put the hour, minute and second hand on that I was making. My design was inspired from one of my favourite anime called Seven Deadly Sins.

Scariest Assembly Ever!

Today was a scary day because I had a part in the powhiri. I had to stand up in front of the guest and the whole school and say the shool prayer without any practice. My legs were shaking like there was an earthquake happening.

After it finished the guest and my principal gave me and the other speakers a hand shake and a hongi, but Mrs Riley gave me a kiss on the cheek. When it ended I was so relieved.

The guests is from a company called ERO. ERO stands for Education Review Office. Have you heard of ERO?

Kiwi Can

Today my class and I did some activities with a company called Kiwi Can.

There were two tutors name were Miss Tuia and Mrs Mac, they were explaining what the rules are and how to play the activities. There are only five simple rules(for some of us) and they're respect everyone, listen to the speaker, don't be shy give it a try, put your hand up to ask or answer a qustion and have fun.

We only played three games to play and I only won one of them. and that was a general knowledge one. The last question to win was "What is the name of the ocean that seperates the North and South Island, and I answered Cook Strait.

Extension!

Last week on Thursday I was given an opportunity to join the Extension Group. In Extension Class we were learning how to juggle.

Last week I only learned how to juggle two balls, but this week I finally accomplished the skill of juggling with three balls. I was able to go for about 10-15 seconds before the balls went everywhere.

It was an amusing and a tough experience learning how to juggle, especially with three balls. But my question to you is, do you know to juggle?

Tech

Today at Tech we were practising our painting skills and how to mix the three primary colours to make three secondary colours.

Not to brag, but I was the first one to finish so I was just using my artistic skills to make the best colour ever. Of course I didn't know what the colour was, but it was still admirable of me.

I really think that I improved my painting skills.

Tech!

 At Tech it was a bit different because we had a substitute teacher. It was still fun and amusing as usual. I made a design for a clock I'm thinking of creating. I know that it's not perfect but this one is just for practice.

 The design is from an anime I watch called SEVEN DEADLY SINS. I copied the design but I alternated it slightly.

It was a great experience for me because I'm not that good at drawing.

⚡Vector Electricity⚡

On Tuesday we had Vector Electricity lessons.

It was fun and interesting because I didn't know most of the things that were explained in the lesson. I really enjoyed the part when she called four people to try and turn a light on by spinning the turbine, and I was one of them. It was a bit like a contest between who can make the light turn on the brightest.

Learning Different Tones At Tech

 Today at tech we were told to draw three dimensional shapes. Next we had to put in a shadow on the dark shaded side. Finally we had to use different coloured pencils and also make a Y shape in the middle. It was really fun learning to draw new things.

Softball Inter Schools!

This term on the 27th of February we have inter-school softball. If I make the team it will be my first time at a softball tournament. I think that it's going to be extremely challenging for me and my team because there are a lot of schools with talented students.  But no matter what or who happens to be there I won't give up and that's a promise!👍

First Day Of Tech

Today was the first day of tech, and we did graphics with Miss Fergison. She made us create a google drawing and put the things we like on it. I didn't finish but that didn't matter because I put the things that I mostly like.

🎵The New National Anthem!🎵

Today Jessica, Leaaepeni and I, created a new version of the New Zealand nationa lanthem as part of our learning. We had to clarify and change some of the words like 'nations' and 'entreat' to 'countries' and 'please'. I have to admit that Jessica rewrote most of the sentences but I still helped.
